If the integrity of the sample pipe is lost we end end up getting wrong reading for the multi gas detector placed in pump room. Resulting in serious risk to personnel as pump room as it considered to be an enclosed space.
There are generally two methods
- Is to run the multi gas detector by blocking all the sampling tube ends. This will result in a no flow alarm that proves the integrity of sampling line
- Some of the detector can detect the percentage of nitrogen. Hence the integrity of the line can be tested by using a sample of 99.9% nitrogen.
