Leak test done on FRAMO PUMPS

Leak test is carried out on framo pump to check if there is any oil leak from hydraulic side to the cargo side or vice versa via the mechanical seal,basically done to check the integrity of mechanical seal

leak test should be done right after completion of cargo loading, so the air pressure is maintained within the range of 1kg/cm2 to 2.5  kg/cm2

Procedure

1) Open valve D , B in the leak cheakc line( valve C is fully closed)
2) Immediately open valve for introducing air at the pressure of 2.5 kg/cm2
3) Should there be any sign of leakage, collect the leaked liquid in the tray
4) Close valve D and B
close valve A after few minutes
